At Central Refrigeration & Air, we serve the Port Orange, Florida area with a variety of commercial air conditioning services. We are proud of the fact that we can help area businesses have a reliable and efficient system through regular maintenance and taking care of repairs in a timely manner before they can worsen and become costlier to resolve. As part of our commitment to ensuring our commercial customers have the reliable air conditioning they deserve, we want to share with you some signs that your commercial air conditioning system should be checked out as soon as possible. Contact us if you notice any of the following:
- Rising utility bills- If you see a steady or sharp increase in your utility bills and haven’t discerned another reason, such as increased production, higher rates, or another piece of equipment that isn’t performing efficiently, then it could very well be your commercial air conditioning system to blame.
- Unusual noises- While a failing commercial air conditioning system doesn’t always make noises, unusual noises should be checked out right away. In fact, if you hear a metal-on-metal sound, you should shut off the unit to prevent further damage.
- Unusual odors- If you are noticing strange odors coming out the vents or around any of the components, reach out to us immediately. A burning odor is indicative of an electrical problem, and you should shut off the system. A musty odor is a sign of mold in the ductwork.
- Inconsistent temperatures- A properly functioning commercial air conditioning system should be able to maintain the temperature the thermostat is set at without much trouble. If it is struggling, there is an issue to be resolved, such as a refrigerant leak.
- Weak airflow- If you notice that less air is coming out of the vents than usual, it is time to have your commercial air conditioning system serviced. A likely issue is a clogged filter, dirty or damaged ductwork, a motor fan issue, or a failing compressor.
- Not getting cold air- If the air isn’t as cold as it used to be or you aren’t getting any cold air at all, a repair is likely needed on your system. It could be a low refrigerant level or a damaged compressor, for example.
- It has been more than six months- Each business is different, but the average frequency for HVAC servicing is twice a year. We can give you a more customized schedule based on your commercial air conditioning system and business operations.
